How to use Optimize.

A working tour of every surface in the app — the dashboard, food, body, meds, training, plans, and the AI features. Skim a section, find the one you need, get back to your day.

01

Getting started

Optimize runs at track.optimizehealth.ca in any modern browser. There's no account form — sign in with Microsoft or Google and you're in.

  1. Open track.optimizehealth.ca and tap Sign in with Microsoft or Sign in with Google.
  2. Walk through onboarding: name, sex, height, current weight, units. Takes about 20 seconds.
  3. Land on the Today dashboard. From here, the bottom tab bar gets you to Food, Body, Meds, Train, and Plan.
  4. Optional but recommended — install the PWA to your Home Screen. See the install guide.

Your data stays yours

Everything's stored in your own private, secure cloud storage. No telemetry, no analytics scripts, no third-party trackers.

02

The Today dashboard

Today is the home of the app. It shows your energy balance (calories in vs out, with workout kcal already applied), your multi-ring macro progress, weight + streak cards, the coach nudge for the day, your scheduled workouts and doses, and a feed of today's meals.

Tap the rings

Macro detail

Tapping the multi-ring expands a sheet with each macro broken out by meal so you can see where today's gone.

After a workout

Wellbeing prompt

If you logged a workout in the last 2 hours, Today shows a contextual wellbeing check-in card right under the header.

03

Food & macros

The Food tab has four entry points: Search, Describe (AI), Saved, and Scan. Pick whichever's fastest for the meal in front of you.

  1. Search a food name or pick from your Recent list. Adjust serving size with the chip row (½, 1×, 1.5×, 2×, or Custom).
  2. Describe a meal in plain English (see below).
  3. Saved shows foods and composite meals you've built. Build one by combining several foods and saving the bundle.
  4. Scan a barcode (see UPC scan).
04 · AI

Describe a meal

Type or paste what you ate, the way you'd describe it to a friend. Our AI parses it into individual foods, estimates portions, returns macros — and lets you fine-tune any row before logging.

Good prompt

Specific portions

"Two large eggs over easy, a thick slice of sourdough with a pat of butter, and black coffee."

Better prompt

Brand or restaurant

"Chipotle bowl with brown rice, double chicken, black beans, mild salsa, fajita veggies, no cheese."

!

Always editable

The AI's estimates are a starting point. Tap any row to adjust portion or swap the matched food before you log.

05 · AI

UPC barcode scan

Open the Food tab, tap Scan, allow camera access, and point at any barcode on a packaged food. The matched product appears as a card. Tap it to log, or tap once more to adjust serving size first.

  1. Hold the phone 4–6 inches from the barcode, in even light.
  2. The viewfinder shows a moving laser line — when it crosses the barcode, the lookup fires.
  3. Confirm the product and serving on the result card.
  4. Tap Log. The meal hits your Today feed instantly.
06

Body & wellbeing

The Body tab has two sub-tabs:

Weight

Trend + goal projection

30 / 60 / 90-day chart with body-fat % overlay, trend insight, and a projected line toward your goal weight. Six measurement fields (waist, hips, chest, arm, thigh, neck) keep the long-term picture honest.

Wellbeing

Tagged check-ins

14-day bar chart of mood + energy scores. Tap a bar to see which tags (sleep, soreness, stress, libido…) drove that day's number.

07

Meds & doses

The Meds tab tracks any compound you dose on a schedule — peptides, anabolic-androgenic steroids, HRT, SARMs, orals, injectables. Each compound has its own units, cadence, and stock pool.

  1. Add a compound — name, dose units (mg / mcg / mL / IU), and reconstitution if applicable.
  2. Add stock — vial size, vendor, lot. New vendors save to your catalog. Verified-vendor flag for trusted sources.
  3. Log a dose — amount, site, and (optional) note. If the dose is in mL, the matching vial decrements automatically.
  4. Site rotation — the rotation map shows which sites you used in the last 7 days so you don't double-up.
  5. History — every dose, grouped by date, fully editable.
08

Reconstitution calculator

Tap the calculator icon on a reconstituted compound (peptide or otherwise). Enter:

  1. Vial size in mg (e.g. 10).
  2. BAC water volume in mL (e.g. 2.0).
  3. Target dose in mcg or mg (e.g. 250 mcg).
  4. Syringe scale — U-100 (most common) or U-40.

Optimize returns the exact number of units to draw, shown on a visual syringe so you can sanity-check before injecting. Tap or drag along the syringe ruler to fine-tune the unit count without retyping. Save the recipe to the compound — every future dose pre-fills with the same numbers.

!

Not medical advice

The calculator does the arithmetic. Your protocol, dose decisions, and sourcing are your responsibility — Optimize is a tool, not a prescriber.

09

Training

The Train tab is a fast log — not a full programming app. Pick Lift or Cardio, tag a split (push, pull, legs, conditioning…), and log volume or duration.

  • The week overview at the top shows the last 90 days as a swipeable bar grid.
  • Tap any past day cell to back-fill a workout you forgot to log on the day.
  • Three quick stats — total sessions, volume trend, kcal burned — sit above the log cards.
  • History is grouped by date and edit-in-place.
10

Plans & cycles

A Plan is a multi-phase goal — usually 8–16 weeks. Each phase has its own macro targets, training intent, and compound schedule.

  1. Tap + New plan from the Plan tab. The four-step builder appears.
  2. Step 1 — Goal: type (cut / lean bulk / recomp / protocol), name, length.
  3. Step 2 — Body: starting weight, goal weight, body-fat %.
  4. Step 3 — Phases: design 2–4 phases. Each phase gets macro targets and a primary training focus.
  5. Step 4 — Compounds: place compounds on a timeline.

Once a plan is active, the Plan tab becomes a dashboard: gradient hero with week N of M, phase timeline, macro plan with donut, mini-Gantt of compounds, 2×2 adherence tiles, projected-vs-actual chart, and a list of past goals you can clone.

11 · AI

The AI coach

The coach card on Today is generated daily by AI using your actual numbers — kcal so far, macros remaining, doses due, training load, last few wellbeing scores. It picks the single most-useful thing to surface.

The coach won't try to be a doctor, won't prescribe specific protocols, and won't moralize about your goals. It's a numbers assistant for people who already know what they're doing.

Settings & data

Appearance

Themes

Iron (amber), Bloom (rose), Pulse (teal), Forest (green), or Cobalt (blue). Light or dark for each. The default is Pulse light.

Units

Metric or imperial

Weight in kg or lb. Doses in mg or mcg. Switch any time — historical data converts on the fly.

Identity

Edit profile

Name, sex, height, birthdate. Recalculates BMR + macro suggestions automatically.

Auth

Sign in & out

A secure, HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in — no tokens stored in the browser. Sign in with Microsoft or Google; signing out ends the session cleanly.

Connected services

Withings smart scale

Connect a Withings scale to auto-import weight, body composition, and vitals into the Body tab. New weigh-ins sync automatically; Sync now and Re-import are there too. Disconnect any time — your scale account stays separate from your sign-in.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Is Optimize really free?

Yes. No paywall, no tiers, no per-scan AI limits. Built and hosted by one person at sane scale.

Where's my data stored?

In your own private, secure cloud storage. Sign-in is handled by Microsoft or Google.

Can I export my data?

Export, import, and undo-delete are on the roadmap. For now, ping us and we'll export your data to JSON.

Is there an iOS app?

Not yet. Optimize is a PWA — install it from Safari and it behaves like a native app, fullscreen and offline-capable. See the install guide.

Android?

Coming soon — Chrome on Android can already install the PWA via ⋮ → Install app. Proper docs once we've tested across more devices.

Does it work offline?

The PWA caches the shell so the app loads without a connection. Logging requires a connection (your data lives server-side).

Still stuck? We're listening.

Drop us a note — we read every email — or open the app and the coach will probably help.
